MEDALS OF AMERICA The United States Navy Antarctic Service Medal was presented to New Zealand service personnel (the majority of who were RNZASC or RNZCT) who served in the Antarctica from 1972 onwards whilst attached to Operation Deep Freeze with the then US Navy Squadron VXE-6, and met the Antarctica Service Medal eligibility period of 30 calendar days of service on the Antarctic Continent.
